The rear ground floor of this Victorian property was opened up with a steel arrangement to support the upper floors and provide an open plan space. A side return extension and rear extension were erected on the ground floor, with glazing above 2m on the side return extension, to obtain planning consent. It was necessary to source fire rated glazing for the side fenestration to comply with building regulations.
